What is an oil filter wrench?

The abrasive contaminants in the engine oil can clog the filter to the extent that the dirty oil circulates around the engine. A clogged filter will hinder the oil flow in the engine. This prevents the grease from reaching all important parts of the engine. Later, you need to replace the oil filter. Contrary to conventional wisdom, there is no need to change the oil filter every 3,000 miles.oil filter wrenches

How to use the oil filter wrench?

Claw wrenches are more like ordinary wrenches than other types of wrenches. These wrenches tend to be longer on one side than the other and use teeth to hold the filter.

Turning these screws counterclockwise will usually loosen the tightest filter housing, although they are also the most susceptible to damage than other types of filter housings. Therefore, use a claw wrench with an exposed oil filter on motorcycles. Rarely.

Metal strap wrenches are simple and effective. Slide the belt on your oil filter housing and rotate the back of the handle counterclockwise. Turn the handle counterclockwise to loosen the filter.

If there is no room, you can turn the handle clockwise. After the filter housing is loosened, slide the strap back from the housing and unscrew it by hand.

The socket wrench is fixed at the bottom of the oil filter housing, usually with a 1-inch ratchet handle.

Set the handle to rotate counterclockwise, and then rotate to loosen the housing so that it can be removed by hand.

Other oil filter wrenches can be a bit cumbersome to use, especially when they pierce the oil filter housing.
